Five members of the Tulsa Golden Hurricane football team earned preseason All-American Athletic Conference honors from Athlon Sports ahead of the 2025 season.
Punter Angus Davies was named to the Second-Team Specialists, while Sevion Morrison (RB) and Mekhi Miller (WR) earned Fourth-Team Offense honors. Ray Coney (LB) was selected to the Fourth-Team Defense, and Braylin Presley received dual recognition on the Fourth-Team Offense and Fourth-Team Specialists as an all-purpose and kick return standout.
Angus Davies
Davies led the Golden Hurricane in punting last season, averaging 43.6 yards on 68 punts, including 17 inside the 20-yard line and 17 punts of 50 yards or more, with a long of 59 yards.
Braylin Presley
Presley showcased his versatility in 2024, contributing in multiple roles on offense and special teams. He logged nine catches for 73 yards, three carries for 27 yards and a touchdown, and averaged a staggering 52.7 yards per kick return.
Sevion Morrison
Morrison, a Tulsa native and Kansas transfer, returns home with valuable experience. In 34 career games, he’s rushed for 507 yards on 90 carries and adds depth to the Golden Hurricane backfield.
Mekhi Miller
Miller, a wideout from Missouri, brings Power Five experience after playing 36 games with five starts over three seasons. He totaled 22 receptions for 311 yards and a touchdown, playing more than 1,000 career snaps with the Tigers.
Ray Coney
Coney joined TU this spring after a standout freshman year at East Tennessee State. The 2023 Phil Steele Freshman All-American led ETSU with 97 tackles, 12 tackles for loss, and five sacks, adding six pass breakups and two forced fumbles. His top performance came against Western Carolina, when he posted 17 tackles.
Together, these five players highlight Tulsa’s mix of returning talent and impactful newcomers ahead of the 2025 campaign.
